Ardbeg Supernova SN2010
Nose: Big earthy, peat smoke, pepper on top of sweet vanilla and burnt cereal. A bit of water tames it a little, letting more of the sweet vanilla through, mossy, a lighter pepper and more delicious smoky peat.
Taste: Bang... an instant hit of big smoke and salt. Dry earthy cocoa but less than the nose told me, little oil. Zesty lemon, peppery spice.
Finish: Dark chocolate, smoky, warming and dry. Hangs around for a very long time getting drier as time passes.
Very well rounded for its young age, fresh and packed full with character. The SN2010 is more complex and packs more punch than last years offering. If money was no object this would be a regular for me.
