|
|
i've been offered an official bottling of "Springbank 32 year" distilled in 1971 and bottled in 2004.
There's somewhat of a paucity of information on this expression Online.
Does anyone know any background to its release please?
(I know zilch about Springbank generally) |

the old springbank when the 21 year old was getting some older stock in it to keep up with demand which they eventually stopped as it was usuing up old stock and they couldn't carry on
some stock was over thirty years old I was told whhich was very good it tends to best at its best after twenty or so years

It seems to have had a few sales on scotchwhiskyauctions.com. 2400 bottles produced, matured in refill sherry casks and they change hands for around the £500 mark.
Certainly from my experience Springbank is a wonderful dram and if you have the money and can get it at a better deal than the auctions offer then you could do a lot worse! |

It depends what is costs but in Holland there are s a few shops selling for between 900-1000 euro
As others have said lasy year they were selling on UK auctions for £500-£600
A German guy I know who is always very honest and knowledgeable scores it at 88 points , I trust his judgement. _________________ Pour me a glass please. |
