I was recently at an airport and decided to get a new whisky. I've never bought on airports before but, I soon noticed most of the scotch were special flight bottles. There were something different with each bottle compared to the regular ones. But then I found one I thought was a regular bottle. Balvenie Portwood 21 YO but when I got home I found out this was not a regular one as I thought. It's actually a 47.6% compared to the regular with a lower alcohol volume.
Damn I thought, I've been reading tons of good reviews of this scotch as I thought it was the regular one.
Have anyone tasted both? Are they the same in taste? |

| Unfortunately I cannot give you a comparison as I have only tried the duty free, higher abv, version of the Balvenie 21 Portwood. But I can tell you that it is imho an excellent dram. You should very much enjoy it! |

Great! I can barely wait to open that bottle and pour myself a glass. But it's above my usual price range, so I thought I'd atleast wait until my stepfathers birthday and offer him a glass aswell. |

I have enjoyed both in the past, slight preference for the duty free version, both excellent and my favourite "standard" Balvenie. _________________ Talisker 18 - the rest are just details |
