Hi all

Hoping for some help...

I know nothing about whisky, apart from it's my Dad's favorite tipple... Every birthday, Christmas or Father's Day we get him something whisky related.

I'm getting married in a few months and I'd love to present him with a bottle of his favorite tipple but have absolutely no idea what to go for!!

I've been to whisky shops and stared (probably quite gormlessly) at shelves and shelves of bottles and have absolutely no idea what I'm looking at or for!! This is where I need your help...

Looking for something around £150 (could stretch to a bit more if needed). His whisky cabinet seems to be full of Glenfiddich and Delmore. All single malts but different ages.

Any recommendations? Really looking for something super special!

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. I certainly need it!

Wink

Welcome to the forum! I'm sure you'll receive plenty recommendations from members.

If it was me then I'd say stick with what you know he likes - fortunately both Glenfiddich and Dalmore have some pretty special drams for the price range you're looking for. A few to consider:

Glenfiddich 125th anniversary (still available online, quite collectable and a very good dram)
Glenfiddich 19 year old Age of discovery
Dalmore King Alexander III (this comes with the option of a personal engraving on the bottle if you buy through The Whisky Exchange, so great for a special occasion - this would be my pick).

Might be worth looking at his collection and ensuring he doesn't have any of these already!

If he can wait a couple of days.......you can get a hand filled 15yo cask strength glenfiddich delivered to his or your door
The label can have his name......or even "father of the bride".......or anything. His name will be kept in the ledger and its in a lovely wooden box. And the date of the wedding on the label....handwritten if you time it right. Its 95quid.
Beautiful whisky? Or keepsake? Hell enjoy either.

Or as stated an age of discovery gift pack delivered from distillery. Get the 3 pack 90 quid.......all three 20cl in one presentation pack.

Id go for the first, he'll be overjoyed and its bespoke.....just ring them up and explain personally..
