|
|
I love "The Glenlivet 12" for it's drinkability. I recently bought a bottle of Glenkinchie 12, which is the most comparable whiskey I've found. Was wondering if anyone else knows of any similar drams? What do you reach for in a bottle that goes down quick and easy?
I've tried Aberfeldy 12 and Balvenie Double Wood and haven't cared for them. I am a big fan of HIghland Park 12, but consider it a more complex and slightly smokier whiskey, still easy drinking through. Also wondering about Old Pulteney 12, and whether it fits the bill.
Advice and recommendations appreciated |

| AnCnoc 12 is a great shout, it is a lovely light whisky, I also reach for Auchentoshan 12 and Glenfiddich 12, and the Glen Moray sherry finish ... As a outside the box dram I enjoy the paul John Brilliance.. |

| Had some great nights with the glenlivit 12, the list is endless but also found the jw black so easy to drink, sorren it's great to hear you give the glen moray sherry finish a shout as it will shock a few people, I've heard a few say aultmore 12 is a good easy drinker also. |

Dalmore 12. For me, it's a great combination of drinkability and a good amount of sherry influence and complexity.
I'd also add a few others at 80 proof I've had and enjoyed...
Auchentoshan 12
Cragganmore 12
Glenfiddich Solera 15
Bowmore 12
I must also mention a blend, JW Black.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I've tried Glenmorangie 10, and I like it a lot. I'm more likely to have a glass or two to sip than to down half a bottle like I do with The Glenlivet 12 or Glenkinchie 12.
I've also tried Auchentoshan American Oak. The bottle went quickly, so I can't complain, although I mixed a lot of it. Maybe I should give Auchentoshan 12 a try.
I'm defiantly interested in AnCnoc 12, it may replace my Glenkinchie 12. Dalwhinnie 12 wounds like a good replacement for my bottle of HP 12.
As for blend, it's sounds like I'm one of the only scotch drinkers that doesn't buy and enforce Johnny Walker Black. Chivas Regal 12 has become my blend scotch of choice. Before I got into single malts I used to buy a lot of The Famous Grouse and The Black Grouse. I'm going to give the JW Black a try. Thanks guys. |

| Chivas 12 is OK, but the 18 is streets ahead in quality. Try JW black, double black (extra smoke) and perhaps my fave go to whisky, Green Label 15. |

| Dalwhinnie 15 for me. Really missed it since I finished it! If you don't mind heavily sherried I also think GlenDronach 12 is very drinkable. |
