| Just curious what people think is the best whisky for the money, when it comes to a daily dram?? |

Macallan 12 or Balvenie 12 DW. Those are comfort whiskies for me. Always good and always a decent deal. I could also mention HP 12 and Glenfiddich 15 Solera.
But then, I also love Islays. Enter Laphroaig 10. A heck of a deal around here compared to others. I also enjoy Bowmore 12 and it's price. |

Aultmore 12 is the one I hit the most, It plays well with others.
I do a lot of DIY science projects, Using Aultmore as a base, then add a splash
of something just to see if I like it. Also helps stretch out a bottle of pricier
malt . Like a bit of Tobermoy 15 , Gives me the nuances of the 15, without
blowing thru a bottle too fast |

I guess it comes to personal preference on style and what budget you consider to be "daily dram" territory
Personally for me I find it hard to beat:
Glencadam 10yo
bunna 12yo
Ardbeg 10yo
Clynelish 14yo
I'm more than happy to spend around £40 a bottle for daily dramming purposes. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

Balancing price and quality for a daily dram I would reach for:
Highland Park 12
Talisker 10
Glenfiddich 15
Glenlivet Nadurra First Fill Selection
Glengoyne 12
Laphroaig 10 or QC
Ardbeg 10
Aberlour A'Bunadh |

Ardbeg 10
JW green label 15
Talisker 10
Kilkerran 12
You'll notice that all are above standard 40% abv. I don't think that's coincidence. |

Hmmm, one tasty & affordable (30-60€) OB for every month:
Clynelish 14
Springbank 12 cask strength
Ben Nevis 10
Kilkerran 12
Ardbeg any (10/Corry/Uige)
Highland Park Dark Origins
Glengoyne cask strength
Glenfarclas 105 (60%)
Benromach 10 100 proof (57%)
Arran 12 cask strength

The trouble with any question like this is that the answer is totally subjective. What do you like? If your taste is different from mine, my answer will be utterly useless to you.
For example, someone mentioned Aultmore 12. Now, I think that that's a perfectly good and pleasant whisky, but I can't make up my mind whether or not even to buy another bottle, let alone keep it for a "daily dram". If you like Islay whiskies, Laphroaig 10 is an obvious one. I admire it, but certainly wouldn't want to drink it more than occasionally.
My choices:
Balvenie 12 Doublewood
GlenDronach 12
Glenlivet 15
Glenmorangie 10.
(I like the last of these so much that when it was on special offer, at £25/bottle, a few weeks ago, I bought three bottles for my store. Even when not on offer, the most expensive - the Glenlivet - is only £42/bottle from Sainsbury's.)

| PS - I've just noticed that Amazon currently has Auchentoshan American Oak on special offer at £19.50/bottle. It's a decent, easy-to-drink whisky, so, at that price, it's terrific value. |
