Sad to say but I have noticed that the most recent bottles of these two Glenmorangie favorites here in the U.S. have been reduced in ABV. Formerly a robust 46%, they are now 43% ABV as seen in the local Total Wine & Liquor stores. I have spotted and purchased a couple of the older bottlings at two of the smaller independent liquor shops here in southeast Florida. Don't know if the pricier Nectar d'Or bottle in this GM line is also reduced in ABV but would not be surprised if this is so.

I only see 46% version on sale here in the UK and the Glenmorangie web site here in the UK states it is 46%.

Didn't Glenmorangie reduce the ABV of these whiskies to 43% a few years ago, around 2013 - 2014 if I recall correctly then put the ABV back up to 46%.

Newkophile, it may just be old stock which you are seeing in your local stores. I may be wrong and it is bottled at a different strength for the US market as whisky companies have been known in the past to bottle whiskies at different strengths for different marketplaces. What does it say on the US version of the Glenmorangie web site.

Yes it does sound like old stock from when they reduced the ABV to 43% for a while.

Gents I think you will find it has been reduced to 43% ABV, some outlets are still selling 46%.
