| I'm looking to buy a bottle of scotch between $100-$150. So far I have really enjoyed Macallan 12 and Highland Park 12. Any suggestions? I do not really like the Islay scotches. Not a fan. Thanks! |

Which $ currency are you talking 100-150?
In CDN I'd suggest:
Glenlivet 18
Glenfarclas 17
Glenfiddich 18
Glengoyne 18
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban
Glenmorangie Nectar d'or
Craigellachie 17
Glencadam 10 |

| If you enjoy the sherried Macallan 12 then I would suggest taking a look at the Glenfarclas 17 or Glendronach 12 or 18 if it falls within your price range. |

| Would any of the suggestions above compare to Aberlour A'bunadh? I have heard a lot of good things but not sure if it would be a good choice or not or if the suggestions above are better choices?? Thanks! |

That one is also good, very high abv and typically requires some added water. It's also heavily sherried. The Glenfarclas and Glendronach above do have quite a bit of sherry influence (especially Glendronach) but the Abundah is on a whole different level being cask strength.
I'd probably try a few others first before taking on the Abundah. |

Thanks for the info! I was looking up The Glenfarclas and The Glendronach around where I'm at in California and I'm having a hard time finding the Glendronach, even our Beverages and More store doesn't have it. I will probably give The Glenfarclas 17 a shot! Thanks again! |

Welcome to the forum srt805
The Aberlour A'bunadh is a powerful cask strength, rich, intensely sherried dram, it certainly has a bit of a cult status and for good reason and the great thing about it is no 2 batches are 100% identical, I would highly recommend trying at least one or two bottles if you have a taste for a big sherried whisky. A couple of other high strength sherried drams worth looking out for are the Glenfarclas 105 and Glendronach Cask Strength.
A few others which I will add to the list of suggestions in no particular order are:
Dalwhinnie 15
Glencadam 10, 15 & 21
Glencadam 17 Triple Cask Portwood Finish
Glenfarclas 17, 105
Glengoyne 10 & 12
Glen Grant 10 & 12
Glendronach 12 & 18, Cask Strength
Ben Nevis 10
Balvenie 12 & 17 Doublewood
Glenmorangie 10, Quinta Ruban & Nectar D'or
Glenfiddich 15 & 18
Glenfiddich 19 Age of Discovery Bourbon Cask/Red Wine Cask/ Madeira Cask Finish
Jura 16
anCnoc 12 & 16
Loch Lomond 12
Old Pulteney 17
Glenlivet Nadurra First Fill Selection
Glenlivet 18 & 21
Tomatin 14 Port Finish, 18 Sherry Finish
Aberlour A'bunadh, 16 & 18

Thanks for the list and advice! I do enjoy a good sherried whisky like the macallan 12, but I really enjoy the long finish of the highland park 12! I can definitely see I have a lot of different whiskies I need to try! Thanks again! |
