I was hoping some of you guys could help me, I have come accross a rare looking bottle of whisky and cannot find any further information on it, It is bottle of Aberlour-Glenlivet Centenary Special Reserve Malt 21yo 1879 - 1979. It is in a black Edinburgh Crystal presentation case with pink satin lining and is also in a Edinburgh cut Crystal Decanter, al untouched. the bottle also has 'St. Drostans well' engraved on the front. bottled from cask no. 1559 in 1979 after aging 21 years or more
Please if anyone can tell me anything about this bottle of whisky then i would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks and regards,
Scott |

Hi Scott
What we know as Aberlour today was originally the Aberlour-Glenlivet Distillery Company which was founded in 1879.
The bottle you have will be a limited edtion commemorative bottle released to mark the distillerys 100 years centenary. I believe there was at least a couple of versions released, one in a ceramic decanter and one like yours in a Edinburgh crystal decanter. It has been a couple of years since i saw one like yours for sale and i think it was selling for about £200. I wouldnt like to put a value on it for you today as i may be way out but if you are looking to get it valued with a view to selling it i would suggest contacting either Mctears auctioneers in Glasgow or Bonhams in Edinburgh who both specialise in whisky.
