| I normally drink Ardbeg, Lagavulin, Port Askaig, Talisker & Springbank but I fancy trying a good rich sherried malt. Any suggestions as to which one I should try? |

Glenfarclas 105, a sherry bomb. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Glendronach 12yo
Bunnahabhain 12yo
Glenfarclas 15yo
If you're feeling adventurous then Aberlour A'Bunadh.
Personally I think it's hard to beat Bunnahabhain 12yo for a well priced sherried whisky. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

My first real big sherried whisky was Aberlour A'Bunadh. Its cask strength, which is always fun to play around wth ( water ) as I am sure you know.. There is batch variation which is interesting as well. Never had one I didn't like, although some are better than others..Not too expensive either
I think on balance I prefer the 105 that Quaich 1 mentions above..Then there are the glendronachs! Confusion........ |

I'm a massive peat-head and find that Glendronach 12 year old really helps to reboot my sherry senses and waft away the smoke from my palate.
Macallan is another classic sherry bomb, just please stay away from the old Fine Oak range. Its just not on the same level. Worth splashing out on a Sherry Oak 12 year old though, if you're happy to stump up £60+. |

| I would say the Balvenie 12 Doublewood is a fantastic introduction to sherried drams. Also as already mentioned, Glendronach 12 and anything from Glenfarclas. For the price Aberlour 10 & 12 are good but the Aberlour 16 and older are very good. |

First into to sherried whisky I would say the following;
Glenfarclas 12
Bunnahabian 12
Aberlour 10 defo go for the A'Ba - it'll blow your socks off!
And If your feeling quite flush,
Balvenie 15 Single Cask |

Aberlour 16 or A'bundah.
Although if you want to be rocked in your boots go for an older Glendronach. |

| Hmmmm Sherry casks and where to start .. All the above are great choices and it really does depend on what your looking for.. The Glenfarclas 15yo takes some beating and so does the Glendronach 12 and 15, as for the single cask glendronach then the 2004 and 2003 batch 14 are stunning not to mention the early 90 releases.. Aberlour abunadh is a phenomenal series and always seem to hit the spot.. Don't overlook the Balvenie doublewood and as mentioned the 15 sherry single barrel has thrown up some real gems.. Another good entry level is Glen Scotia double cask.. great balance and full of flavour for its price.. a real cheap gem is the Glen moray classic sherry finish.. for around £20-£22 you can't go wrong.. Enjoy 👠|

| Not much to add to the above, all good choices, other than maybe a single cask Balblair or Glengoyne... |

The 2 latest Macallan whiskies are worth a look. The Macallan Edition No.2 is very good http://www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/macallaneditionno2review.htm
Also the new core range Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask should have enough sherry influence to entertain you http://www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/macallandoublecask12review.htm
The Macallan Sienna is also very good and if money is no object then the Macallan Oscuro is outstanding.
The Balvenie 15 Single Barrel sherry cask bottlings I have tried have all been outstanding.
I don't think the Glenfarclas 17 has been mentioned above, a cracking expression of the Glenfarclas. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| Edradour Caledonia 12. Oloroso Sherry cask aged and 46% ABV. Wonderful! Superior to the Glenmorangie Lasanta and Balvenie Doublewood IMO, although I do enjoy these lesser priced bottles also. |
