| I spoke to my house insurance and luckily they insured it.. I was told I just had to name any single bottle that was worth more than £1600 otherwise the whole collection is covered under my policy as individual bottles.. but my advice is check and re check if going under house insurance.. I use Direct line.. |

| I'm with UIA insurance , I my wife phoned them about my whisky and they replied that they wouldn't insure my whisky AND the refused to renew my content insurance for the rest of the house because of the risk due to fire or theft 😳😳 |

Time to change insurer.
I'm with MoreThan and they cover my contents (including any "collections"). Like sorren I have to name any sole item over a certain value, but as I don't have any 1 bottle over that value I'm covered for all my bottles, as the total value doesn't exceed my contents limit.
As for the theft or fire risk, what a load of old nuts. Carpets, curtains, clothes, aerosoles (deoderant etc) ,lighter fluid, that can of Calor gas for the BBQ that's in the garage.....that all burns pretty well and I doubt that'd not insure you for that. Things like TVs, hi-fi's on show would encourge theft, but Bill Bob Public isn't going to break in to nick your Balvenie's. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |
