Good luck with the £1,000

I bought a pristine bottle at auction last week for £575 inc fee's... Lots on the market, and price is going down.

£575 is a very good price, I think you got lucky. Going by recent auctions I have seen for the Macallan Easter Elchies 2011 with matching miniature £1000 isn't over the top. For example earlier this month a bottle and mini sold for £1150 at Scotch Whisky Auctions, of course there would be auction costs and charges to consider but I would be expecting to get around £1000 for these in the current market. I think the mini makes all the difference to collectors.

There is only one auction that I am aware of, where 2011 Easter Elchies and miniature has gone for over £1000 and you have quoted it! At the moment, unless this price level is maintained in subsequent auctions, it must be regarded as a spike in price. Looking at the last 12 months, the price has crept up from about £575 maxing at £850 and has been inconsistent. You only have to look at the history section on the Scotch Whisky Auctions to see this, as can any buyer.

Therefore as you are selling privately, with no fees for the buyer or seller, persons may be unwilling to offer you the £1000 price that you are looking for.

This is a fair price and they will only rise in value owing to only over 500 Bottles available Worldwide and am sure a few will have been drunk.

This is the For Sale section not the open discussion forum, If not interested in buying why comment and try to put people off

If you can supply and sell these Bottles for Circa £500 I am sure your hand will be bitten off..

Thanks for taking the time to comment, I am sure it has helped someone also I have quoted nothing...

I think you will find every section of this forum is an open discussion forum.

Also I would say you are being given some good advice as far as your asking price goes.

It does seem to fetching £650 -£800 in recent times but that is without the mini, as Mark points out the mini could make quite a difference to collectors and the price it fetches. probably best putting it to auction.

Treat yourself LOL.. A fair price for a excellent couple of Bottles Thanks for the interest, A stunning addition to any collection the Mini sets it off especially with its bramble colouring. I have been collecting for 35 years and its a great marriage of bottles. Smile

Firstly I'm not interested in buying but the price of anything is the price someone is willing to pay ! It might have fetched £500 or £1000 or even £2000 .. the problem is with selling bottles on a forum full of whisky drinkers rather than collectors.. your price is the price you want and if someone wants it enough they will pay.. but you should also be happy to listen to what a few people are telling you as these people are possibly the kind of people who might just buy your bottle. Good luck with selling the bottle.. I hope you sell for a price both you and your buyer are happy with !!
