I found this bottle in my late father-in-law's collection. I am told that it is old but I cannot see any dates. I note that it is 43%, 75cl and the label indicates that it was sold in Thailand. Is it valuable or drinkable?

If the seal is intact it should be drinkable.
I would guess that it was bottled in the 1980s perhaps 1990s. The Glenlivet 12, even old bottles doesn't seem to fetch a great deal at auction, around £60 but perhaps the Thailand label will make it a little more collectable. You will have to consider auction costs and shipping so if it were me I would open it and enjoy it. Just my opinion. You could try contacting one of the specialist whisky auction sites such as www.mctears.co.uk or www.scotchwhiskyauctions.com and ask their valuation. But as I said, after costs, I don't think it would make you much more than a new bottle of the Glenlivet 12 would cost you today. |
