I havent saw this mentioned on here yet so i thought i would give it a mention for those who like Highland Park.

I just got the Highland Park newsletter announcing the new limited edition called Highland Park Hjarta which is a natural strength 12 year old expression, limited to approximately 3,900 bottles. Available now from the distillery shop and in Scandinavia during autumn this year. Hjarta is the ancient Norse word for "heart' and the whisky.

Bottled at 58.1% which is goes against HPs lataest trend of lowering ABV Evil or Very Mad these are HPs tasting notes for the Hjarta:

TASTING NOTES
Colour: Deep amber, clear and bright.
Nose: Close scrutiny of this intense 12 year old cask strength malt reveals a glorious combination of rich, dried fruits, aromatic spice and heather, caramelised pineapple and fresh lemon peel subtly intertwined with hints of delicate smoke.
Palate: Rich flavour delivery, mouth-coating silky vanilla sweetness and hints of coconut converging in an exquisite balance of sweet, heather peat smokiness.
Finish: Long, gentle and smoky.

Hjarta is available at £65 per bottle.

As you say Harvey it does go against HP's latest trend of lowering the ABV but it doesnt go against there trend for increaing profits, 3 times the price almost for what looks like a cask strength 12 year old Highland Park. I suppose you have to pay more for the words "limited edition".

I think i would prefer a bottle of their HP 18 and some change. I suppose this is perhaps aimed more at collectors than malt whisky drinkers.
