Just wondering if any of you guys had tried either the IPA Experiment or Projext XX releases?

I don't have much experience of Glenfiddich - although I did do the tour and tasting a few years back, and to be honest I was overly keen when compared to the other distilleries I visited - but times and tastes change and I quite liked the look of the XX so was contemplating a punt...

Is it a limited edition bottling?

I think the whole Experimental Series is limited but having said that I would guess there will be plenty of it available as it will apparently be available from Tesco. It should be £45 a bottle. It does sound interesting, whether it is worth its price tag, I don't know.

According to what I've read here (http://www.greatdrams.com/glenfiddich-ipa-and-glenfiddich-project-xx/) it's not a limited edition, but something they are adding to their range.

The IPA versions sounds interesting too, but I do wonder if this is just another quirky way to package up NAS?

Or another quirky way to put a £45 price on a young NAS whisky. Glenfiddichs main travel retail range went NAS a while back now, I have been waiting for them going this way in the domestic market and had noticed that this Experimental Series was coming

They are available from most of the usual online retailers and there has been a bit of chatter about their launch but I was struggling to find any reviews or tasting notes other than the official launch blurb. Guess it's a bit early yet Smile

I don't rate anything scotchwhisky.com has to say as it is a website by The Whisky Exchange to promote the sale of whisky, not independent as it claims, why do they hide the fact. Just a marketing web site made to sell whisky and take up positions in the search results and bump other sites off page 1 of results making it more likely for folks to click on TWE.

Hello, I'm Stuart, Editor of The Whisky Exchange, and I would like to address the inaccuracies in the above post.

Scotchwhisky.com is not 'a website by The Whisky Exchange'. Both TWE and Scotchwhisky.com are owned by Speciality Drinks Ltd, but are run as separate companies with separate editorial teams.

The Scotchwhisky.com team comprises three journalists: Becky Paskin, Dave Broom and Richard Woodard, all with a proven track record of integrity. The website is 100% independent, and profiles numerous retailers from around the world on its website. We at TWE have no say over what they publish.

Stuart I have to say I don't see scotchwhisky.com as independent and I doubt many whisky drinkers would and if anyone wants to say that they don't rate what its has to say they have the right to do so. Perhaps the way Brummie has worded his post could have been more accurate but I think you are just nit picking when you say "inaccuracies". I am sure all here knew he meant that scotchwhisky.com is from the same folks behind The Whisky Exchange. I have to say I find it strange that you replied and in such a way.
