Glen Moray 2005 Burgundy Cask 61.4%Bottle 107 from Cask 5419
Colour ; Rusty Red
Nose - Marzipan, Vanilla, Grapes, Sun Dried Tomatoes, Dusted Sugar, Black Current, Cherries, not much oak at all, unexpectedly not very winey at all..
Mouth - Spiciness of the red wineHit you first, slightly hot from the alcohol and a nice liquorice. With water - 70% Dark Chocolate almost sherry cask esq.
Finnish - Quite a lot of liquorice again, dry and tannic from the Burgundy wine cask. Medium length
Really this has taken me surprise. I believe it's been fully matured in the wine cask, and oddly it hasn't over powered the spirit. The Spirit and the cask has worked harmoniously. |
