I was at a gathering today where they served Glenfiddich Select Cask from a one litre bottle.Actually, I was not familiar with this travel retail offering. It was purchased in the Duty Free in Israel and brought back to Canada by a friend. Part of Glenfiddich's Cask Collection.

Here are my taste notes:

Color-Orange gold

Nose: A wonderful floral sweetness with heightened vanilla and fragrant orchids. There is a demerara accent that permeates the whisky.

Taste: Blood orange sugary sweet, creamy and smooth, medium-bodied with an underlying spiciness which just fits like a tailored suit.

Finish: Long, the fruity theme continues with apple n' spice and lichee nuts in syrup.

Comments: This is a lovely dram that obviously has been effected by selected whiskies in a solera vat yielding a very engaging dram. The red wine cask influence among others is noticeable.

Rating: 86.5

I do enjoy this over the standard Glenfiddich 12, a very easy to drink Glenfiddich
