First time at doing this but here goes!
Glen Garioch 1999 Batch 30 56.3%
Dark Amber
Nose; Slight burnt matches, not much alcohol burn on the nose, sweet icing sugar , salty, burnt rubber, elastic bands, really trying to get past the lit matches! I'm getting Wet Tweed Coat ( This is really odd! ) with add water. Cherries and Dark fruits
Mouth; Not Bad. Caramel, no alcohol roughness, Crystallised oranges you find in fruit and nut mix, warming, dark bitter chocolate ( 70% Style!) oranges, slight white pepper. Coffee ( with water )
Finnish; Dry, slightly oaky, slight hint of Oloroso but not so much. Lingering Spice of Chilli Peppers.
Comments; A really Black Sheep of a 'Sherry Bomb'. The Sulphur is undeniably there what makes the nose quite hard to get around ( it really is quite strong!) mouth and Finnish are really not bad at all. Really glad I got a sample.... Ill leave it there. |
