Macallan 18 (2016) - 43%

Colour; Mahogany

Nose ; Sherry! Big Sherry, Milk Chocolate, Coconut, Vanilla Wipping Cream, Christmas Cake, Damarera Sugar, Juicey Red soaked grapes, Oak

Taste; Oak, Dark Intense sherry, Dark Chocolate, Ginger and Nutmeg ( lots of Christmas spices! )

Finnish; Very intense, slight drying with a incredible mouth fill, quite spicey.

Comments; Really is lovely isn't it? The nose is fantastic, the mouth doesn't quite live up to the nose. Don't get me wrong it's bloody delicious. £150 is really really strong. I don't think I would pay it, shame because it fantastic.

Great note CGRenn, I don't often see a note on the Mac 18 these days due to the price but to my cost Macallan is my first (whisky) love and I am on my 4th bottle of the 2016 now with another couple of bottles in the cupboard. It is an outrageous price but Macallan know what they have and also know they have the customers willing to pay the price. I don't drink nearly as much Macallan these days due to the price but have quite a few gems tucked away from the years gone by.

Very nice to see tasting notes. Thanks for that !!

I've been sitting on my Mac 18 vintage 1994 for sometime now. Just can't bring myself to open it. I'm thinking this Christmas would be the right time.
