Here are my own taste notes from the event last night:

Nose: Apricot, pineapple, citrus peel, orange treacle, nutty, licorice and butterscotch.

Palate: Orange and spice, demerara sugar and mocha flakes, hint of malted milk. Full-bodied and meaty.

Finish: Long, Swiss chocolate, ultra smooth and creamy, layers of spice.

Rating: 92

***A perfect example of a full-bodied substantial dram of quality. Very surprised that Jim Murray, whisky pundit rates this one only at 80.5. I don't get his perspective here at all. Actually, a quick survey at the tasting event last night showed that quite a few gents rated this one very high.

See my general post regarding this event in the Whisky Event Section of the Forum.

I tried the Signet for the first time the other night at a bar. It was cracking. So ful-bodied with a lot of flavour. It may have to be a future purchase...
