I am enjoying My very first Japanese Whisky, my wife has just added the Yamazaki Single Malt to my collection from the Sunturo Distillery.
I'm not disappointed
Anybody have any thoughts/comments on Japanese Whisky? _________________ "No, Try Not! Do or Do Not, there is no try!!" Yoda |

Japanese whisky, on the whole, is very good. The problem is that everyone else has noticed this and stocks of aged whisky are now low. They've removed age statments on most stuff and the prices are high. A few years ago you could scoop some crackers at a good price....but no more _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

Some of my favourites are no longer available at a good price (Yoichi 20 and Hibiki 21) but you can still pick up Hakushu 12 for a reasonable price (Suntory) and I've seen Taketsuru 17 around for under £100 still - blended malt from both of the Nikka distilleries and very good. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

The Tescos where I used to live have had some crackers. Got a Hibiki 12 and Yamazaki 12 both at the Original RRP. Had a wonder around my local wine shop yesterday and they had about 8 bottles of The Yamazaki 12 for £109.99 - Stupid Money. |

The Hibiki 17 is lovely and the 21 is absolutely fabulous, but I wouldn't say either are worth shelling out for current asking prices. The 21 in particular has gone mental. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |
