Here are my own taste notes from last night's event for:
Benromach 10 Year Old - 100° Proof (70cl, 57.0%)
Color: Orange amber
Nose: Peach jelly, demerara sugar, fruit explosion, citrus hues highlighting lemon rind, English toffee, light smoky notes, salted butter and late black Australian licorice.
Taste: Full-bodied. No doubt about the intensity here circumnavigated by some delightful floral notes and then a burst of Mediterranean spices that keeps on giving. The peat plays only a yoeman's role here.
Finish: Long, the spice only heightens with emphasis on pepper, chilies and fireplace reminiscences.
Comments: A bold expression that flaunts its cask strength profile underscoring balance and enjoyment. A few drops of water open the dram quite nicely taming the intensity but allowing some dessert elements such as creme caramel to bloom.
Rating: 86.5 _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| Great note Murray, it does seem to sell well over here, it is often out of stock in some of the specialist whisky shops. |
