Just wondering if anyone her has tried the Cutty Sark 25? Seen it in a local bottle shop and at a decent price, wondering if it is worth it or not?

The Cutty Sark 25 year od is a very good blended whisky and worth a go if found at a decent price.

Cheers William. What would you say is a decent price for this? It is about 80GBP in comparison as I am in Aus. Do you have any idea of the Malts in this blend?

Sorry for the slow reply, just returned home and wasn't online all day since posting earlier. £80 sounds like an good price, it is actually hard to come by the Cutty Sark 25 these days, not sure if it is discontinued or they only release a very limited amount, whatever it is it is usually out of stock. You can still find the Cutty Sark Tam o' Shanter 25 Year Old limited release which is priced at £200, I believe the standard Cutty Sark 25 was priced around £100

Cheers William, you have twisted my arm.....although it does not take much to do that. Worth a punt for the $160 in today's market.

Out of interest have you ever tried these;

Ballantines 30
Whyte and Mackay 30
Famous Grouse 30?

Any comments on these as I also have seen these around and am considering these too?

Yes I have had all 3 and all 3 were very good. The Ballantine's 30 is an outstanding blend and my pick from the 3, the Whyte & Mackay 30 is a rich fruity blend with a touch of liquorice through it and is very good, The Famous Grouse 30 is a rich fruity a blended malt which no doubt has a Macallan and probably Highland Park influence being from the Edrington Group.. I would be happy to recommend all 3 if your are looking for a premium blend, as I said, if I had to pick one it would be the Ballantine's 30 which is usually the most expensive of the 3.

Yes, the Ballantine's is very expensive. I will buy one of each as they are blends that have been on my radar for a while. Thanks for the feedback on these!!
