Happy New Year!

Is anyone on the forum a Springbank Society Memeber? Really considering it as I'm partial to a Springbank/Hazelburn/Longrow. The exclusive Society bottlings do look fanatic too!

Happy New Year

Springbank used to have a forum where you could read all about there whiskies and Society bottling's but they appear to have either closed it or made it available to society members only. The current website doesn't give much of a clue about the limited edition society bottling's or what prices they will be asking for them. They could do with posting some more detail of what the Society offers these days in terms of whisky.

They have offered some cracking Springbank Society bottlings in the past usually bottled at cask strength, many have become quite collectable/valuable. Not sure what they offer now and at what prices, it has become more a secret society since they removed the forum from public view, that is if it still exists at all.

As Cadenhead’s Club member, I’m getting news about their bottlings and early info about special releases.

It’s an easy going Club/Society with slowly growing number of members (even for Campbeltown standards).
Check them out at Campbeltown Malts Festival in May - the perfect excuse for visit of Cadenhead’s/Springbank warehouses…

What's the general feeling about paying to be part of a club such as this - do the benefits of being a member justify the costs? Obviously we're not in SMWS territory here which is something I've looked into but couldn't justify.

I've registered as a 'member' on a number of whisky brand websites including Balvenie (Warehouse 24), Glenlivet (Guardians) and Glengoyne (Family), and get things like access to member only content, emails about new releases and special offers etc but not sure that I actually really feel part of anything.

Diademo - The Cadenheads Club sounds interesting, how do you go about joining that? I've had a look but their website seems to be down and there is no information about it on their shop website.Would love to visit Campbeltown, it's on my whisky to do list Smile

At Cadenhead’s they are very easy going…
Drop a line to Cameron at club@wmcadenhead.com. He will tell you more about the Club.

hi, I have been a member since they have started the springbank society so i was one of the happy first 50 people that signed up and got a lifetime membership for free. Would i pay for it? Yes, I would.

we get regular society newsletters and about twice a year they release a society member only bottling.. the next one just coming up now... It will be a 8y old Springbank, Fresh Sherry Butt. (594 bottle available) 57.2%.

Apart from that you get news about what is to be released from the distillery itself and any other limited UK bottlings etc.

I still have all the previous society bottlings as we used to be able to order two per member but that has now stopped and you can "only" buy one as the members club has grown and they want to give more members a chance to get a bottle.

cheers
Mike

Hi Mike

Thanks for your perspective on this - sounds pretty good, thinking I might go for it Smile

Cheers

Almost 2 weeks ago I dropped an email over to Springbank enquiring about the Society (to society@springbankwhisky.com as per the instructions on their website) but I haven't heard anything back from them - does anyone now if this is still going?
