I read recently that the Brown-Forman corp is purchasing GlenDronach, BenRiach, and Glenlassaugh distilleries. What are peoples thoughts/feelings on this? Mine are initially apprehensive.. Worried that drive in profits could drive a decrease in quality of the whisky.

There is a on-going discussion here about Brown Forman takeover of Glendronach etc

No announcement of a sugar maple charcoal filtered Glendronach yet but I do fear quality may drop and prices may rise. Stock up now is my advice.

I think we may see a similar effect on prices as we seen with Ardbeg when Glenmorangie took it over.
