Diageo have announced the launch of Johnnie Walker Island Green blended malt whisky which will be exclusive to travel retail.

Bottled at 43% ABV and priced at £42 (US $60) for a 1 litre bottle Johnnie Walker Island Green is described as having a smoky Island style. Is it a no age statement version of the recently re-launched Johnnie Walker 15 year old Green Label blended malt, well the answer to that is NO according to the info I have from Johnnie Walker.

The Island Green bottle certainly has the look of the Green Label, could be good and the airports often run offers on Johnnie Walker which would make it not too bad a price for a 1 litre bottle.

I wonder if the 1 litre bottle of JW 15 year old Green Label which is £45 at the airport will remain on the shelf when the Johnnie Walker Island Green arrives with NAS and only £3 less.

I do like the Green Label, it has always been very drinkable, it will be interesting to try the Island Green to see how smoky it is.

Looks to be another that I want, but may never get the chance. Sad I do enjoy the Green Label. Top Malt
