| I'm having my friends over this weekend and they tend to gravitate to Glenlivet 18. I'm wondering if there is something very similar to this that wouldn't break the bank that I could serve instead? I'm not a scotch whiskey drinker myself, but would like to start learning more about it to become knowledgeable. Any suggestions would be terrific! |

Cheers. Welcome to the Forum. Glenfiddich 15 Year Solera is a very good dram and significantly less expensive, about 20 British pounds cheaper in UK. Ah, I see now you are in South Carolina, USA. You should get a good price for it there too, about 50 US dollars I believe a bottle, maybe a little less.
P.S. I played golf in Hilton Head in your state some years back for a week; beautiful place! _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| The Glenfiddich 15 is a good suggestion, another few suggestions I would make which not 100% similar (no 2 single malts are) but equal in quality and shouldn't break the bank are Dalwhinnie 15 year old, Glenlivet 16 Nadurra, Balvenie 14 year old Caribbean Cask, Balvenie 12 year old Doublewood, Glen Grant 10 year old and Glengoyne 10 year old. |

It's interesting Grant that the Balvenie 14 Caribbean Cask is the same price as the Glenlivet 18 here in Ontario. Not cheap. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."
