Glenmorangie has unveiled the oldest whisky the Highland distillery has ever released, the Glenmorangie Pride 1974. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and ex-Oloroso sherry butts this is the third release in the Glenmorangie Pride series.
As you can imagine you will need deep pockets for this one, a limited release of 503 bottles it will be available from May 2017 with an RRP of £7,200

| After the awful review Jim Murray gave the Pride 1981 a few years back I am sure the folks with the money to spend on this will await some reviews first, at least I would if I had this money to spend on a single bottle. |

At least this time they haven't had to put the spirit in some weird casks to rescue it like the first two.
Here's looking at you Dalmore 50 . _________________ Talisker 18 - the rest are just details |

Glenmorangie Pride 1974 Musical Composition by Aaron Diehl
Aaron Diehl has composed a piece of music which according to Glenmorangie embodies the new whisky’s rare beauty. Diehl found inspiration at the Distillery where Glenmorangie’s exceptional whisky has been crafted since 1843. His composition echoes the creative spirit of the recently released Glenmorangie Pride 1974, drawing on its depth of character and its long maturation, nurtured by the Men of Tain. Diehl, a world-renowned pianist, has premiered his work alongside the whisky at New York Steinway Hall on March 23, 2017.
Ok that was the marketing folks take on the piece from Aaron Diehl, make you own mind up, pour a dram of Glenmorangie, sit back and listen to the special composition from Aaron Diehl which I have added to my youtube channel here:

and if you what to try it with some of the new Glenmorangie Pride 1974 which is the oldest Glenmorangie released to date you will find the details here:

Anyone interested in the Glenmorangie Pride 1978 I spotted it in World of Whiskies at Glasgow airport for the bargain price of £4,600 for a 1 litre bottle
