Murray's taste Notes for Deanston Virgin Oak

Here are my taste notes from last night for

Deanston Virgin Oak 46.3% abv.

Color-Gold

Nose: Crab apples in honey, sweet melon with orange zest shavings and late arrival rum and raisin ice cream.

Taste: Medium bodied, spice, slightly warming with Robertson's thick orange marmalade and mocha chocolate pudding.

Finish: Medium-long with citrus, spice and definite orange treacle.

Comments: This is a young single malt with a preponderance of the aromas and flavors in the citrus zone. It has quite a pleasant aura and feel to it in general.

Very much agree with your rating of this, I felt the virgin oak had made the young whisky a little more interesting but still a young whisky.

I have a bottle of this on the go at the moment, sometimes I like it more than others if that makes sense but cant fault it, a decent whisky, I prefer it over the Deanston 12 year old.
