I assume you mean www.scotchwhiskyauctions.com I cant access the site, isn't this the last day for the current auction, looks like their web hosting service cannot handle the traffic. If they do have problems with the site it has got to effect final selling prices, buyers will be getting bargains and sellers losing out.

Same here, luckily a few bottles have decent prices but quite a few others well below even average price they should be even accounting for the zero listing fee.

Yes. I finally got a message stating too many people were trying to access the end of the auction and site access failed. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

I think they need to put an e-mail out to all of their users explaining the auction will now close tomorrow night. If they dont I think the momentum in the auction will be completely lost and sellers will lose out big time!!!

A "no sellers' commission" auction was always likely to be problematic. I fear there are going to be a lot of pissed off sellers (whenever it ends)

I got shafted by them over a year ago by the site crashing, at that time it was something like 6 out of 8 auctions crashed and the response was two fingers up at the sellers. By law they only have to complete the majority of the auction so sellers have no comeback.
I agree extending in theory is good but the sale has lost momentum. They really should have known. _________________ Putting the func in dysfunctional. |
