| I'm flying to Scotland next week so I was having a look at the 'World Duty Free' website to see what might tempt me at Gatwick. My eyes popped out when I noticed this new Bruichladdich, which apparently is a Travel Retail exclusive (but for how long is anyone's guess). I was wondering if anyone had tried it? It only arrived on Whiskybase a few days ago and someone has given it 82/100 but with no review, so that's pretty meaningless. I think it's only just been released this month. It's nice to see it has an age-statement (all too rare these days, especially at airports), and at 50% it has the makings of something special. A mix of European and American oak casks apparently. It's certainly on my shopping list. I'm hoping I can get a taster at the airport before I buy. |

This is the first I have heard of it, Bruichladdich seem to have been very quiet these days, perhaps quietly building up stock for releases such as this, good to see an age statement but pity it is only a 70cl bottle, 1 litre bottles are now getting rare in travel retail.
The tasting note on the World of Whiskies website does make it sound tempting and the 50% bottling strength should enhance the enjoyment. Let us know what you think if you sample it or buy a bottle. |

I was through Glasgow airport last weekend but didn't spot the new Bruichladdich The Laddie Eight, but it may be there now they have added it to their website.
World of Whiskies shops in Gatwick and Glasgow usually have a good selection of sampling stock, but if you don't see the new Bruichladdich The Laddie Eight on display for sampling be sure to ask as the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable particularly the girls in the shop in Glasgow. Do let us know what you think of it if you do taste it. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |
