Another most enjoyable evening was had by all last night at my single malt scotch club tasting and dinner.

The drams presented last night were in order:

Aultmore 12, 46% abv.

Tomatin Cu Bogan, 46% abv.

The Ileach Cask Strength 58% abv.

(This is not the 56% abv. that is listed on the Independent Bottler's website but what I believe to be an older bottling which was their best according to my sources).

***My taste notes for these are now posted in the Single Malt Tasting Notes section of the Forum.

Enjoy your tasting notes as always, not sure if it was deliberate about the Tomatin but I agree it is Boggin, which I would use to describe something disgusting. Originating from

BOGAN, Boggan, Boggin, n. “A boil, a large pimple, filled with white matter, chiefly appearing between the fingers of children in spring” (Bwk., Lnk., Ayr. 1825 Jam.2).
Arg. 1882 Argyllsh. Herald (3 June):
The wins was awfu cowld an' he tok a boggan . . . in his chokes.
Rnf. 1788 E. Picken Poems, etc. 172:
He coud hae cur'd the cough, an' phthisic, Burns, boggans, botches, boils, an' blisters.

[Gael. bogan, anything soft, from bog, adj., soft (MacLennan).]
