I don't really like Famous Grouse, but I've tried both and to my tastes the Naked Grouse was far superior (I mean, more to my preference). I was actually quite surprised by it, much better than I was expecting.

Opelfruit, can you explain your tastes for me if you can? I've heard some people say the black is similer to jw black?? Don't know how true that is.

I like peat more than sherried whiskies (generally) but I found the sherried components work better in the grouses than the smokey elements do, so as a whisky on the whole I find the Naked grouse better put togetherand delivers more closely to he flavour profile I expected when drinking it. If that makes sense.

As I say, I don't really like grouse and I found the black more of a smokey version of the same thing, whereas I found the Naked grouse different and to me tasted like a 'better' product.

Personal preference and all that.

I can't say that it tastes like JW black. And for me too - the Naked Grouse is far better that I ever expected it to be.

For me both are good in their own way and for the price you pay for them.

Yes I got a bottle last night from Morrisons, will be interesting to see how the addition of the Glenturret has changed it (if at all!)

According to the blurb, yes, although I haven't tried it yet. They say that they've included a rate Glenturret to increase the smokiness...
