|
|
Glenfiddich has announced multi-million pound expansion plans to increase the capacity of its distillery in Speyside, Scotland.
The expansion will allow Glenfiddich to meet increasing global demand for its Speyside Single Malt Whisky and the planning application has now been given the stamp of approval from Moray Council.
Their are plans for a new still house, tun rooms, external storage tanks and equipment as well as some landscaping features. An existing warehouse will be demolished to make room for the new still house. Unfortunately I do not have any figures telling me how much the increase in capacity will be but I will certainly update you when I find out.

| I would imagine it will be no small increase in capacity if they are going to the expense of building a new still house. Isn't Glenfiddich already the largest producer of single malt whisky? |

| Kray I believe the Glenfiddich distillery is still the biggest producing malt whisky distillery with a 14,000,000 litre output per year, Roseisle is 2nd with 12,500,00 and Ailsa Bay 3rd with 12,000,000 |
