|
|
Hi, just trying to buy a Christmas present for my father, he tends to prefer Speyside whiskies so am going to go for one of them. I bought him a Glenfiddich 21yo last year and Aberlour 18yo the year before both of which he greatly enjoyed (although doesnt like the Aberlour 16!). Anyway I've narrowed it down to three...
Balvenie 21 + distillery tour (Balvenie 12yo probably his favourite standard tipple and at the price I could get the tour too...)
Glenlivet 25 (has owned a few Glenlivets)
Glenlivet 1983 Cellar Collection (bit left field this one)
Are there any of these you'd reccommend as far superior? Or another Speyside you'd reccommend as outstanding within a similar price range? (150-250). Cheers |

Welcome to the Forum. I'm partial to the Glenlivet 25 myself. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Another vote for the Glenlivet 25 from me. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| At £35 for the balvenie tour.. He won't forget that.. I'd be over the moon with the tour, then get a couple of bottle your own while on the tour.. That's my choice.. |

I have tried all 3 and I managed to buy a bottle of Glenlivet 1983 at the distillery last year, no box but it was around £130 and it is a cracking dram.
So I would choose the Glenlivet out the 3 listed but what about a Glendronach 21 with plenty of change left? _________________ You can't push anyone up the ladder unless he is ready to climb himself. |
