I've been handed this bottle from a friend and they need to know exactly what it is, and the estimated value. I tried looking myself, but had no luck. I took pictures of it (very hi-res). Any help is appreciated. (If you need me to transcribe anything on the bottle because the pictures don't show it, please ask!)

Here is the front label. (The pictures are way to big to post directly!)

Here is the back label.

Bottom of the bottle. (Hard to see the numbers in the picture, ask if needed.)

Tax sticker left side.

Any help is appreciated.

I would hazard a guess that based on the label and the 86.8 proof, it probably dates back to 1960-1970's though the label is in awfully good condition so it may be younger, Value could be ascertained by contacting Johnnie Walker directly or an auction house.

An example of a vintage desirable Johnnie walker red would be:

Note the different proof on the label, 70 proof

Thank you for the information. I was able to better refine my search and seem to have found a match.

They claim it's 1968. No word on estimated price though. Seems likely to be around $50-75 I would assume.

Sound about right?

I've seen the 60's USA bottlings go at auction for £100-150 in the UK. If it was slightly older with the spring cap you could do £300+

Interesting. So at this point, what would be my best course of action for this bottle?

Save it, sell it, or sip it?

I would likely drink it.
Very Happy

Very smooth, strong yet mellow, sweet finish. Good stuff.

Too bad I couldn't share it with any of you.

Any offers on the empty bottle?
