A decent blend but used to be better a few years back when it was peatier than it is now, as I said still a decent blend but not a replacement for a single malt.

I tried this blend in a bar half expecting it to taste like Talisker because you'd expect the Skye distillery to be in a blend with the island's name on it. I didn't really detect Talisker at all, or perhaps a faint hint but I liked the dram enough to go out and buy a bottle. Practically every bar in Scotland with a reasonable whisky selection seems to have it, usually sitting beside a Black Bottle (also a solid pub blend).

Perhaps it was the 5 pints and 6 vodkas I'd had before I tried the Skye that made the Talisker hard to detect! Embarassed I've got a bottle so will have to try it properly side-by-side with the Talisker 10 and see if I taste it this time.

Don't expect it to match the 10 it just dosnt compare but it is a blend I now use quite a lot, and enjoy, I've got a talisker Skye and the storm for the Xmas period plus a livit 12 that will do me this year, oh yeah forgot I've got a bottle of grouse smoky black hehehe
