The 3 single malts were announced today for my single malt club next tasting and dinner next week:

OLD PULTENEY FLOTILLA 2000

ARDBEG PERPETUUM

G&M GLENROTHES 18YO

I have not tried any of these before. Thoughts and comments appreciated....

The Glenrothes is good if it is the same as I had.. Can't comment on other two. I really must go open some ardbeg.. But I just can't bring myself to open any .. I really can't..

I know what you mean Sorren. I have an Ardbeg Galileo and I can't bring myself to open that one because it cannot be replaced here. One German auction has it going for 500 Euros.
Exclamation

I can't get into any of the peat & smoke monsters. It's like drinking an ashtray to me. Shocked

It's an acquired taste for some. I liked this type of single malt right from the start. Some folks just don't have the palate for it.
Very Happy

That is the 1st release of 3 to date in the Old Pulteney Flotilla series, released in the French market, there was the 2000, then 2004 and in September this year they launched a 2005. No surprises, an easy to drink Pulteney whisky vanilla'd, toffee'd, citrusy, sweet a bit of spice and a wee touch of salt. The 2000 was around 12 year old were the 2005 is around 10 year old.

The Ardbeg Perpetuum is very good and will be loved by any Ardbeg fan.

I haven't had the G & M Glenrothes 18 but G & M do offer some excellent alternatives to the original distillery bottlings due to their cask selection for maturation, hopefully this is a good one.

There's no point you having them then really, wasted on you. I'll do some swaps with you, Ardbeg for cuddles?
