Whatever it is, I'm expecting it to go out of stock rather quickly... Unless it turns out to be Bells or Grants Razz

I would guess it wont be Ardbeg Supernova 2015 final release since the Glenmorangie company wheeled out Charles MacLean to support the promotion of this.

Last edition of his book 2015 it was the Japanese expression that was his whisky of the year- Yamazaki Single Malt Sherry Cask 2013. Who knows what he might pick this time.

Some of the best whiskies I've had in the last 12 months included:

Mortlach 18 & 25 year
John Walker & Son Odyssey
Glen Ord 30 year
The Singleton of Glendullan 38 year
Macallan Ruby
Glenmorangie Signet
Bunnahabhain 25 year
Johnnie Walker XR21

It won't be a scotch Murray, not enough drama. It'll be something left field, limited edition and expensive. Whatever it is he'll once again use it as a message to the scotch industry about how they should be "moving forwards".

Incidentally, I also don't care Very Happy guy's a wazzock.

Our certainly doesn't help the price of whisky sky rocketing does he? I agree with him picking another Limited release/expensive Bottle lark... Maybe something Diageo?

Oh god, it's going to be an independent bottling of a Scottish single grain. All the fashion.... Rolling Eyes

In all fairness, I've tried a 50yo Cambus from the Sovereign range which was probably the best whisky I've tasted and certainly the best one I've had this year.

There was some 9yo sherry cask grain knocking about recently that was supposed to be really good but can't remember what it was.

http://blog.thewhiskyexchange.com/2015/11/jim-murrays-whisky-bible-2016-the-winners/

And here are the results. Not one scotch whisky in the top 5! Unlivable.... Actually Very believable!

Hahaha.

I've sampled this and it was nice enough, no more than a B+, maybe 80/100 if I were to score it. Theyll pin the award, sticker format, to the boxes now even though it was 1 specific bottling that he had. So any others are likely to be different, batches etc...

Unless a single cask, or small batch release wins then you're not getting the winning whisky....unless it has the same bottle code as big Jims.

Can't say I'm surprised as his been banging on about Canadian for a few years. Funnily enough it's sold out now anyway.....think it was only about £50 anyway.

I had a quick search on this also, as I know Crown Royal are fairly cheap. It seems like only the States has any source of this, doubt we will see any now!

It did make me laugh when I had a quick search for 2nd best whiskey in the world Pikesville Straight Rye. The MOM description of 'Great in a Manhattan!' really doesn't make you think runner up!
