A quick little teaser folks.

Here are the letters below. What closed single malt distillery do they spell? No anagram software please.

First one to get it right is the Forum winner with bragging rights:

g a l t e s e m n a d

Go to it....There's a little twist in this but I won't devulge what it is.
Very Happy

Had one about 6/7 years ago and I don't remember it being very expensive (you will pay the same for a NAS release now), unlikely to ever again unless there is a lottery win on the cards due to the price increases.

Must add, outstanding stuff the bottle I had and probably one of the best I've had.

Ditto. In fact I can't recall ever coming across a bottle.

Almost exclusively Indie bottlings, used to see them knocking about in the mid-2000's but not so much nowadays. The juice is going to be a bit too old now I'd bet, unless they've tanked loads of it.

I've a Douglas Laing Platinum 30yo (d.1982) bottling, but haven't opened it. Can't remember if I've ever had a dram.

Glad to hear that everyone got the right answer to the puzzle.

Samson answered first so he is the WINNER.

The correct answer is of course
St. Magdalene

Known initially as Linlithgow Distillery named after the town in which it was built. It moved to the St. Magdalene site in 1834. St. Magdalene closed in 1983. The distillery took its name from St. Magdalene's Hospital, a lazar house which once stood upon the site. Some of the buildings were converted into apartments and the pagoda roofs were saved.

I would love to try a dram from this closed distillery.

Hi Opel,

Yes, I'm hearing very good things about whisky expressions from this distillery.
