|

Here is something a little off your beaten track of single malts from Disaronno, the intensely almond/marzipan flavoured Italian liqueur. Disaronno have added a very exclusive addition to its portfolio, Disaronno Riserva which is a unique blend of Scotch malt whisky and Disaronno - aged in Marsala barrels from the Cantine Florio in Marsala, Sicily.

| I am sure it must be very good but I wonder what malts went into it to qualify it for a £250 price tag. |

I did some research on this one and found that "Disaronno Riserva is uniquely presented in a frame, which uses a transparent high tech film to keep it in suspension". _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| I got given a Disaronno glass the other day whilst camping as the missus broke mine. I love the glass, proper big a chunky 70's style square glass (you know the type that would do real damage if you whacked someone over the head with it). Up until now I've felt a bit of a fraud drinking just whisky; however, this (price aside) might cure that... |

I was invited to a tasting launch on Wednesday this week presented by Augusto Reina, CEO of Illva Saronno but unfortunately i couldnt make it. I would have loved to have tasted it. I did ask which malt whiskies went into it but they did not reveal them. I would guess that it will likely contain William Grants owned whiskies as WG distribute Disaronno. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |
