Hi William. Great article. Karen Cottier, a 24 year old young north Cork woman now the head distiller of the new micro distillery in Midleton is a sign of the times. She joined Irish Distillers Limited through their graduate programme, which allows science grads to get a taste for the life of the distiller. She reminds me of another young dynamic lady in Scotland, Georgie Bell who is also making a name for herself in the whisky industry.
