|

As it is the 4th of July it gives me an excuse to open my bottle Four Roses Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey tonight to toast our American friends across the water, not that I need an excuse as it is a superb whiskey.
Will you be raising a glass of American whiskey today, if so what do you consider a good from the US? |

| I have a bottle of Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage 2004 which I have been drinking recently, pretty good stuff, vanilla sweet and spicy. I shall be pouring one tonight. |

Anything with Blanton's on the label, although obviously the higher up the range you go the better it gets - love the Straight from the Barrel and Gold.
Also on the cheaper end of the scale, I do like Bulleit 95 Rye and Tincup. |

I have the excellent Wild Turkey Rare Breed bourbon to pour later tonight.
Happy 4th July to all our American members.

| I have some Blanton's Gold Edition Single Barrel to drink which is amongst the best bourbons I have tasted, admittedly I haven't had that many. |

There are so many Scotch whiskies to explore I haven't really began to explore American whiskey at any depth, bourbon is something I need to be in the mood for but I am sure there are some seriously good American whiskies to try.
I have a bottle of Elijah Craig 12 at home which I enjoy the odd dram of occasionally, so will pour one tonight.
Happy 4th July to all the US members. |

Drinking Jameson Crested which was matured in bourbon barrels does that count.
I have a bottle of Evan Williams Single Barrel 2004 in the cupboard which is very good. |

it's independence day and here is me with a nice pour of Aberlour A'bunadh. I guess I should follow it with the Four Roses single barrel. I kinda think of them as cousins anyway.
