Personally I wouldn't be attracted to a NAS Arran at £85, some of Arrans earlier limited release series became collectable but only really once they were released and given good reviews by some whisky critics and even then not every whisky in every series got brilliant reviews, Icons of Arran for example, The Peacock was superb but The Rowan Tree and The Eagle were far from brilliant they were not good.
Now it seems the packaging and bottle numbers is what determines the price, not age or quality of whisky. I am a drinker and not collector and personally I will be waiting to hear some rave reviews before spending £85 on another Arran special release. |

Whether it is for drinking, collecting or an investment Arran is very much a distillery you should wait for reviews about the whisky before buying especially given Arrans pricing now. |

I tried this back in June at the Arran whisky festival and being honest it was just ok.
I preferred the Fino cask edition that I sampled on the day and managed to buy a bottle at £55.
At this price range of £85 I would rather buy a Glendronach 21yr or An Cnoc 22yr. _________________ You can't push anyone up the ladder unless he is ready to climb himself. |
