To be perfectly honest if I spent £100 on one whisky order it would probably be for 2 bottles - I'd go for 2 of the following 3: Glendronach 15 Revival, Benriach 17 Septendecim, and Benromach 10 100 Degrees Proof.
The reason? Most of the great whiskies that used to be in the £70-£100 bracket are now way more expensive than that - so no old Highland Parks (not even the 18, even that is more than £100 at TWE), no 25 year-old Taliskers etc. All in all, I don't think there's a whisky in that price range right now that I enjoy/want more than those 3.
But ok, if I stop being grumpy and play along, I'd say probably a single cask release by Glendronach (though none are in stock at the moment hence my choices above!), or a Family Cask release by Glenfarclas. |

Now there is a point Alexpp. Age statements have really gone threw the roof, the most reasonable priced age statement I have seen is Tulibardine 20 Year. But I haven't tasted that, so have no idea what the new bottling are like.
Glenfarclas Family Cask are fantastic but even the 1998 is Almost touching £200 :/ |

It's regular spend for me so there's not really anything in that bracket that I'd feel I was treating myself too. "200 on the other hand opens many (many) more doors.....so I'd put it all on a double or nothing bet and hope I came in with the goods
.....on a more serious note, probably something from Nikka, maybe a Yoichi 15 or a Taketsuru 17 (I know somewhere that I can get them for under "100 still). As they are discontinued, likely to skyrocket in price and also pretty damn good whiskies. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

Once again we're in agreement! Probably the Taketsuru for me, as I haven't tried any of those - at least I still have the Yoichi 12 which is only short of a couple of drams.
EDIT: In fact...writing the above has tempted me to sell one of my Yamazakis and try to get a selection of Yoichi and Taketsuru... I'll have to have a look at what's still available |

There are plenty I could pick from the £70 to £100 price range, when I do buy at this price to do expect an age statement, there are a few good exceptions with NAS but not many.
I could easily go for any of these which I already know I enjoy: Old Pulteney 21, Glendronach 21, Talisker 18, Glencadam 21, Glengoyne 18, Bunnahabhain 18. |

+1 for Tulibardine 20. Its finished in 1st fill bourbon barrels - rather full and complex for Tulibardine. |

What's it like Doademo? I'm seriously considering it, saw it in a shop in Soho and it looks fantastic |

I tasted it last time in Tullibardine distillery. Beside 25yo (sherry) this is my favourite; in some respect similar to new Deanston 18yo. Rather full bodied (probably longer second maturation in 1st fill bourbon barrels) and pretty complex. Regarding the price tag, this is one of best kept secret for medium aged, high quality OB malts, IMO. |

Like a few have said £100 no longer buys really stellar bottles, but in order to play along for a £100 budget I'd probably buy a balvenie 15 single barrel sherry cask.. Otherwise as others have said possibly a 1994 or 1995 glendronach, there is s chance of picking up a bargain from auction, yesterday's £100 bottle is today's £150 bottle.. |

I would add £10 to my imaginary £100 winnings and buy another bottle of the Glengoyne 21, drinking it tonight and it is excellent. |

Easy one for me, Glendronach 21, great value at around £70. _________________ You can't push anyone up the ladder unless he is ready to climb himself. |

I'd probably get the HP18. When I started buying whisky in 2013 the HP was £80 and I thought that was expensive then, hence I didn't get it. Now it's closer to £100. I'd definitely need to win £100 to bother buying it. |

If I could find one - Elijah Craig 20 single barrel.
But as above the glengronachs would get a look in. Midleton very rare but I suspect the price has risen to above £100.
But saying that, knowing the market I'd probably buy 2 bottles in the £50 range. |
