Anybody tried this Diageo Bottling? Seen it about at a lovely price and pretty decent reviews but wanted to see if any of you malty men tried it?

The 2010 special release? 58.1%

If so yes. It's well made and really quite a nice whisky, I'd say it was done in a very old fashioned style. Mature and plenty to offer. I enjoyed it but I don't think I'd buy another one. Above average but not fantastic.

Yes that's the chap! Humm all this seem very appealing. I've seen it on offer for £105.
I don't know where else you can get a decent distillery bottling, good age, and at cask strength for that price.

I have a bottle, still unopened (101 euro in 2013).
Had few drams on different occasions - rather decent, traditional malt, with some sherry notes on one side and vanilla on the other, all in good balance. But nothing special.

That's about the same price I paid.

Nice whisky, didn't regret buying it but don't really remember it all that well - take from that what you will. Smile
