Have looked online for this comparison but can't find one. Have seen Glenfarclas 12 vs. Glenfiddich 12 & 15.
Love the Glenfiddich 15 & 18. Haven't tried the Glenfarclas 15. Rave reviews on Master of Malt. |

The reason you haven't found a head to head comparison I'm guessing is that the Glenfarclas 15 is totally different - a proper sherry monster, bottled at a hearty 46% ABV. For many - including myself - it's the pick of the regular Glenfarclas range, ahead of some of its older siblings. It's definitely highly recommended.
That's not to say I don't like the Glenfiddich 15 (I'm guessing you mean the 15 Solera) of course, which is a very good whisky in its own right. It's much lighter in style than Glenfarclas 15. |

Having got both open currently - I'd say my preference is the Glenfarclas. But the Glenfiddich (solera) does have a certain refinement to it over and above the Glenfarclas. That said at times, I struggle to pick out some of the complexities in the glenfiddich straight off the bat and have noticed some burn / bitterness on occasion- it does better being rested for a while before drinking and benefits with a drop of two of water to draw out more flavour IMO. Never been disappointed or had to mess about with the Glenfarclas and as above I prefer it to the 21 and 25.
Now - the Glenfarclas 15 is £10 more expensive and I would say justifiably so; however, this then brings it into the same price bracket as the Glenfiddich 15 Distillery Edition which is a beauty. Higher ABV than the Glenfarclas near 51% vs 46% IIRC but not noticeabley so. I'd still plump for the Glenfarclas as it consistently makes me smile. Definitely an evening / after dinner, if you get my drift. You wouldn't want to rush into it. |
