Got £80 to spend on a new bottle, Any suggestions? Last 3 bottles I brought are Lagavulin 16 , Bunnahabhain 12 and Glendronach 15 so I like a bit of everything!
Cheer all |

For something a little different, how about this nice cask strength expression:
Tormore 20 Year Old 1992 (cask 100152) (Berry Bros. & Rudd) (70cl, 51.5%)
Goes for 80 pounds at The Whisky Exchange. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Many great expressions at this price range.
Maybe you should try older Glendronach 21 or other sherried malts as Glengoyne 21 but there are many other options for you to explore |

Yikes, yes there are loads of really good whiskies once you get into that price range. Once you start regularly drinking in the £50-£80 bracket the choice of quality whisky is pretty endless, it's the bracket I tend to sit in.
Need some help narrowing it down mate. Where do you fancy going next for a really good bottle? Peat, sherry or general bourbon'y goodness? If you decide where you want to go to try a really good bottle then here will still be far too many choices, so need to give us a hand _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

| Haha yeah I was being a bit vague! Fancy going towards more Floral type Whiskies. I've had my Peat fix with the Lagavulin and my Sherry with the Glendronach, so I guess that would be my next option. I'm really open to anything, but the floral notes I got of the Glenfiddich 15 I really enjoyed. Hope that helps! |

Ok, still lots of choice
Glenmorangie 18yo is lovely. Very elegant and tropical fruit driven highlander. Think that's about £80 these days.
You could go for an Old Pulteney 21yo, excellent stuff but it may be a tad over 80 now, not sure. The 17yo if not, but this is only around £60.
Any of the older Balblairs, the 1997 2nd release if you can still get it. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

If you can get a Mortlach 16 on auction DO IT, JW Green label 15 (again auction but a blend)
If you can't my money would be English Whisky Chapter 13, Hibiki 17 (slightly above your price range), Kavalan single is excellent and tropical fruit notes.
Gosh. So much to choose from thinking about it. |

Balvenie 15 single barrel is just about in your price limit, there are just so many malts out there in this price bracket, but if you shop wise you could just about afford a bottle of glenlivet nadura and a bottle of aberlour abunadh... Enough said .. Also Balblair 1997 is well within your budget and how about highland park origins, at 46.8 it's a lovely sherries offering from hp.. |

I saw that Jim Murrey gave the 21 Y/O Old Pulteney an outstanding score on the 2012 Whisky Bible, may be well worth it |

I am getting really swayed by the Talisker 18... Had the 10 a few years back and it wasn't good, but the reviews on the 18 looks outstanding!
Was looking at cask strength UCF whiskys with a good age on them and came across Longmorn 1990 Single malts of Scotland. Anyone tried it? |

Nope, and if I were parting with £80 for an Indie bottling I'd want to make sure it was a decent one - you never know what you're getting with them.
OP21 is NCF and natural coloured too, at 46%. It's a quality dram indeed. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

| Longmorn is ace - although get the discontinued 15 over the 16. You can still find the 15 in some retail places and like Opel says for that money you want a distillery bottling. I have 2 left waiting my attention as it goes almost forgotten about them! |

IMO it's overpriced but excellent 21yo.
If you are looking at the price range of £80, Ben Nevis has good 15yo single cask OB (on sale now vintage 1998, casks bottled in 2014 and 2015). |
