I've read that it's best to keep Scotch away from direct sunlight when storing. What about buying a product from a store that the bottle has been sitting in a display case for a while (not in sunlight but obviously a lit area) ? Any concern around degradation if it's been sitting out for a couple months?

Nah, you're talking years before an issue would occur. Don't worry about it.
If it's been on their hands for many months and they can't shift it, maybe there is room for negotiation on the price, yes

OK thanks. Negotiate price? In the stores we can buy it here in Canada? What is that? |

Ah yes. Forgot you were over there. My commiserations. Gotta love that monopoly. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

It is only direct sunlight that is the main issue - typically it is the UV radiation from the sun that is energetic enough to actually degrade the molecules. Normal indoor lighting should be fine. |
