Hello All,
Avid follower less active poster!
The time has come again where a couple family members are heading to visit family in Scotland!!
We all know what that means :D :D :D :D :D :D !!!!!!
Anyways being from Canada I just get to watch as the cool and unique stuff gets released and rarely ever makes its way across the pond!
I was looking for some insight on the most recent cool/unique/limited stuff released (nothing too crazy expensive) as I make it a point to only get stuff that I can't get here in Canada when someone goes to visit!
A few examples that i have are thor, loki, guardians edition, queens jubilee, elanta ect.
Any opinions would be appreciated

Don't be restricted just with Limited Editions or Duty Free exclusive bottles. Try to find interesting shops and contact them in advance; they will be more than happy to help you. Of course depends where your folk is going in Scotland.
There are many great whisky shops in main whisky centres and bigger towns.
If they are touring Speyside, ask them to stop at the Whisky Shop in Dufftown. You can discuss about your preferences with Mike (owner) or visit their web page.
In Elgin is a must visit to Gordon & MacPhail (they always carry few exclusive, well priced bottles) and in Highlands Loch Fyne Whisky Shop.
In Edinburgh you have some nice shops; my favourite is Cadenhead's and further up the hill Royal Mile Whiskies.
In Glasgow they can stop at small but well stocked The Good Spirits Co.

I agree.... I will be there in August and want stuff I can't get in Ontario, so Cadenhead's will be on my list to shop for sure.
Personal note, with ties to Clan MacDonald, I've got my eye on a bottle of MacDonald's Traditional Ben Nevis, just for the clan relevance and crest on the label. You may want to search something of a personal nature like that for yourself.
Good hunting! _________________ Slainte |

Thanks guys, however as I am not going I want to limit the travelling to whisky stores they have to do on my behalf.
I am also looking for something a little more "showy" and small released because I have 40+ drinkers right now and and looking more for stuff to put in the cabinet.
Thanks!

| If the people are going to be near a distillery that allows bottle your own why not get them to bottle you one, then you have a single cask, limited edition and cask strength .. |

As mentioned in my previous response I do not want to put them out in anyway it is my wife and her mother going to spend time with family.
I want to order something off of The Whisky Exchange and have it delivered to the door, so browsing stores and visiting a distillery are both out of the question.
I appreciate the help so far if anyone else has some suggestions before I start to manually search each brand for something unique that would be appreciated!

| Glendronach 1994 and 1995 pedro ximenez bottles are worth a look at, also balblair 1997 is a lovely dram, The Whisky Exchange had a cask strength version of Glenfarclas 15yo which is pretty good, some of the distilleries will bottle you a " bottle your own " and deliver it ... You could look up whisky broker and see what single cask bottles are available, again delivered, hope this is of help |
